Top 25 Albums of 2011: #12 Zonoscope by Cut Copy

Cut Copy is one of those bands that just does everything right. This year they turned down an offer to open for Lady Gaga on her summer tour, chose Holy Ghost (whose debut album made this list at no. 19) to be their opener on Cut Copy’s own tour, and even made a excellent remix of a Fleetwood Mac song.
Thus, it’s no surprise that Zonoscope, their follow up to one of my all-time favorite records In Ghost Colours, is another top-notch effort. Choosing to slightly de-emphasize the electro elements of their sound and focus more on the organic, Zonoscope still features Cut Copy’s trademark bouncy sound that’s impossible not to dance to.
Put simply, Zonoscope is an excellent record from a great band on the top of their game right now. If you ever have a chance to see them live, make sure you go.
Standout tracks:
